The Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) recently had their 17th International conference, AMASICON 2022 on 18th to 20th November, 2022 at Kiranshree Grand, Azara Guwahati, Assam, India. They had invited Prof Sunil Kumar Sharma Dhakal President of SSN and Dr Bikal Ghimire, General Secretary as a faculty to the conference.
Prof Sunil Sharma Dhakal was conferred Honorary fellowship of AMASI. He was felicitated as the “Guest of Honor” during the inauguration ceremony. He also chaired a session on and was a panelist on a panel discussion on Difficult Lap Cholecystectomy. Dr Bikal Ghimire presented on the Development of Laparoscopic surgery in Nepal.
Prof Sharma and Dr Bikal Ghimire had a meeting with the Founder President, Prof C C. Palanivelu, executives of the AMASI, President, Prof. Jugindra Sorokhaibam, President Elect Dr Varghese C J and discussed on further cooperation of SSN and AMASI on the coming days ahead for having advanced laparoscopic surgery courses in Nepal.
They also had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Siddesh G, President, Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) and discussed on enhancing mutual cooperation and interaction.
The conference was attended by several surgeons, gynaecologist and trainees across India and from other countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc with more than a thousand registered delegates.
