Birat Surgical Updates 2026, conducted in collaboration with Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital and the Society of Surgeons of Nepal, Province Chapter 1, was successfully completed and achieved its academic objectives. The two-day exam-oriented crash course for Post Graduate MS (General Surgery) residents was held on 9th and 10th January 2026 at Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital (BMCTH), Biratnagar, and was organized by the Department of Surgery, BMCTH.
The program was designed to support postgraduate residents in their examination preparation through focused academic sessions covering important surgical topics, commonly asked examination areas, updated guidelines, and case-based discussions. Emphasis was placed on strengthening practical understanding and enhancing clinical decision-making relevant to postgraduate examinations.
The course was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Rohit Prasad Yadav, President, Society of Surgeons of Nepal (Province Chapter 1) and Head of the Department of Surgery, BMCTH, who welcomed all faculty members and participants. The academic sessions were well received, with active interaction and discussion between faculty and residents throughout the program.
The program was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of Junior Residents (JRs) from IOM, UCMS, Manipal College of Medical Sciences, KIST, Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences, Nobel Medical College, BPKIHS, and BMCTH.
Residents from different institutions participated enthusiastically, and students were allowed meaningful discussion and effective clarification of doubts.
